life. We form our own peer group. There's a specialized group that's called a "mastermind."
You've heard that term before, yes? A mastermind group is a group of like-minded people, that is,
people who want to take their lives to the next level, and they meet, either in
person or on the phone, to give each other support and hold each other
accountable. They realize that they will be inspired and motivated *continually*
(and continual inspiration is KEY to making positive, lasting change, yes?) if
they have a support group that helps them through challenges, cares about their
progress, and holds them accountable for meeting goals. I've been in a mastermind for over 5 years now. I can tell you frankly that my business would never have hit 6-figures a
year, heading towards 7 if it weren't for my mastermind group. I wouldn't
have finished my 9th publication if I didn't have people who care
about me asking, "How's it going? What's
your next goal? How can we help?" By the way, what can you rely on your mastermind group for? When you're taking your life to the next level, this could be anything
from getting out of debt, to starting your own business on the side so you can
be financially free, to getting out of a bad relationship, or into a fabulous
one, or to losing those stubborn pounds to training for your first marathon.
Anything you're working on, your mastermind can help with. And guess what, I've relied on my own mastermind group to help me
with all of the things I just listed! Here's the challenge, though. I read a LONG time ago about the
importance of masterminds (you know that old, classic book, "Think and Grow
Rich." The author notes that the most financially successful people are part
of a mastermind group.) Anyway, I knew this about 10+ years ago. Yet, it took me over 3 and a half YEARS to find one! No kidding! I could not
find people who were really serious about making cool things happen in their
lives. It was amazing. Talk and
action are NOT the same thing. I even had a guy find me on the internet, he called me up and said
he wanted to be in a mastermind, and then didn't follow through even with the
first meeting! Plenty of people
TALK about wanting their lives to improve, far too few are actually willing to
act on their own behalf. Sigh. Where does all this leave you? Well, I know for a fact that some of you are already in a mastermind,
